Le nomination ai Gotham Awards 2023 hanno visto il dominio di All Of Us Strangers diretto da Andrew Haigh, mentre tra gli interpreti Ryan Gosling è riuscito a ottenere una candidatura per la sua interpretazione in Barbie.
I riconoscimenti hanno infatti rimosso il limite legato al budget di un film che impediva ai progetti degli studios e delle piattaforme di streaming di concorrere per uno dei premi.
Una scelta che apre le porte ai film degli studios
Il cambiamento annunciato in estate dal Gotham Film & Media Institute è stato preso per "ampliare la portata legata al riconoscimento e all'accessibilità alla comunità più vasta".
La lista delle nomination è comunque rimasta molto legata al cinema indipendente e titoli destinati alla corsa agli Oscar, come Killers of the Flower Moon o Napoleon, non sono stati proposti.
La cerimonia di premiazione si svolgerà il 27 novembre a New York.
