Bird Box: ecco l'inquietante aspetto dei mostri eliminati dal film
Bird Box, il film Netflix che è già diventato un caso, avrebbe dovuto mostrare anche delle creature mostruose, poi tagliate dal progetto: ecco le foto!
Il creatore degli effetti speciali di Bird Box, Andy Bergholtz, ha condiviso alcune foto dei modelli degli inquietanti mostri che sarebbero dovuti comparire nel film, ma che sono stati alla fine lasciati fuori dal progetto finale. Il film con Sandra Bullock è una delle hit del momento per Netflix, visto che oltre 45 milioni di utenti lo hanno visto solo nella prima settimana.
Diretto dalla regista danese Susanne Bier, Bird Box è ambientato in mondo post-apocalittico in cui le persone iniziano a uccidersi dopo che vedono qualcosa di misterioso. L'enorme cast include Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Colson Baker, Trevante Rhodes, Rosa Salazar, Tom Hollander, Danielle Macdonald, Milton Howery e John Malkovich. I 'mostri' di Bird Box non vengono mai inquadrati dalla macchina da presa, ma Bergholtz ha condiviso sul suo account Instagram i progetti delle creature, nello specifico alcune creature che sarebbero comparse in un incubo della Bullock:

Some spoilers ahead for BIRD BOX, continue reading at your own risk! We had the unique pleasure of designing a creepy makeup for the film, although the scene ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor. Keep in mind, the fatal "vision" that each character saw would most likely be different for each person (you'll understand if you've seen the film), and this makeup appeared in a cut "dream/nightmare sequence" with Sandra Bullock's character. Considering her pregnant state and emotional arc thru the movie, the producers felt Sandra's nightmare would have something to do with a twisted, demonic baby creature attacking her (that's as much as I could gather about the context of the scene anyway). I sculpted at least 3 or 4 variations on the design before it was approved, which began as a more aggressive, monstery look and was revised to be a bit more subtle in the end. I also had the pleasure of painting the finished prosthetics before sending them to set, to be worn and performed by the one and only Dirk Rogers @thehalloweendirk, applied by the great @proutyfx. It's funny, I read an interview recently where Bullock described the creature as a "snake-like, green man with a horrific baby face". Many folks have speculated what the creature may have looked like, but they fail to realize the "snake-like green man" portion was simply Dirk in a spandex green-screen suit . Everything from the neck down was intended to be a giant CGI creature/body added later. In the end, I actually really liked the movie and think it was better off NOT showing the makeup. Kudos to the director for sticking to her guns on that one. Still a fun project to be a part of, thanks Howie! @hoops511 #netflix #birdbox

Il lungometraggio è un adattamento dell'omonimo romanzo scritto da Josh Malerman, il leader del gruppo The High Strung, ed è ambientato in un mondo in cui una forza misteriosa ha decimato la popolazione mondiale e dove c'è una sola certezza: se riesci a vederla, prende la tua vita. Affrontando l'ignoto, la protagonista Malorie trova l'amore, la speranza e un nuovo inizio. Deve fuggire con i due figli, spostandosi lungo le rive di un fiume impervio per raggiungere l'unico possibile rifugio rimasto. Per sopravvivere, Malorie e i suoi figli dovranno intraprendere un viaggio pericoloso di due giorni, con gli occhi bendati. La sceneggiatura è stata firmata da Eric Heisserer, già autore di Arrival, e nel team della produzione ci sono Dylan Clark, Chris Morgan e Clayton Townsend. Fanno inoltre parte del cast Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Danielle Macdonald, Lil Rel Howery, Tom Hollander, Colson Baker, e BD Wong.
